Researching from The Bedside Book of the Garden, by Dr. D.G Hessayon, I happened upon the Chinese proverb above,that I loved and wanted to share. You could swap a loaf, for a lily, but it may not seem fair. Bartering is a great way of getting things done though, or acquiring things you need, and seed swapping is a good example. Was giddy when I went into the tunnel today, through the wind and rain to pick the first salad leaves, and parsley for lunch, and seeing the newly planted spuds peeking through the soil, Spring is in the air, it’s time to wash out those seed trays, and get sowing,and swapping. Must make some bread too, and go to the Florist……………
