It was 12° today as I strolled down the prom in Lahinch. Blue skies, people out, surfers in, lapping it up. Leaning on the new white railings that have that Brighton feel about them, I wouldn’t be any where else today. Glorious and nourishing as only the sun can be, when starved from it for so long. The forecast is good too, cold, dry and sunny, perfect for drying out and breaking up the water logged soil. Got a great seed bed made from an old door, with wooden sides nailed on, a heating cable and sand. I can now germinate those tiny seeds that need heat, tomatoes, peppers and aubergines.
The gardening classes start on Tuesday the 5th.March, lots to learn and do. I’m really looking forward to it and sharing my organic knowledge. Busy planting up the embryonic forest garden, digging up Jerusalem artichokes, and mulching the garlic I planted in November, that’s doing just fine. Great to see the raised beds really working the artichokes are as big as parsnips, lovely made in Rosti with garlic and nettles, but that’s for another day……
