Super Sorrel
It’s not that I can’t afford to buy my greens, and of course I have lots of lovely fresh organic vegetables in the tunnel, but out walking in the near-by glen the other day with my boys we came across the first tasty offerings of the season. Young Nettles, bursting with life giving properties, a huge variety of Bittercress, that was great in my salad, all peppery, with hints of radish. Of course delightful Primrose petals, to adorn the plate and palette, Wood Sorrel, carpeting the spongy earth, nodding in the breeze. Wild garlic, Sorrel and baby Beech leaves all for the taking. Free greens outside my door, are we lucky.
